Business Onboarding: General Compliance & KYC Requirements

Whether you are setting up a new overseas or Hong Kong structure, registering a non-Hong Kong company, or transferring an existing company to Ultra Point, clients typically need to provide the following three core modules of basic information and supporting documents before any process can formally commence.
1. Business Substance & Operations Assessment
- Entity Information: Proposed or existing company name in Chinese and English. Transfer clients must also provide existing basic statutory documents.
- Business Scope & Operating Regions: Detailed description of main business activities, geographic coverage, key supplier origins and core customer distribution.
- Investment & Shareholding Structure: For investment or holding platforms, specify investment regions, industry categories, investee names and jurisdictions.
2. Ownership Transparency & Key Personnel Background Check
- Transparency Threshold: HK companies must trace to natural persons holding over 25% interest; BVI/Cayman/Non-HK companies must trace to 10% or above.
- Identity & Address Verification: Directors and Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBO) must provide valid ID, recent 3-month address proof and contact details.
- Business History & Funds Review: Key natural persons must provide detailed work history for the past 3 years and approximate annual salary level.
- Corporate Shareholder Documents: If corporate shareholders exist, must provide business license/certificate of incorporation, articles and latest shareholder/director register.
3. Document Certification & Language Requirements
- Certified True Copy (CTC): ID, address and corporate shareholder documents, etc. must be certified as true copies by a lawyer, accountant or recognized professional.
- Witness Exemption: For Hong Kong local business, if professional certification is unavailable, Ultra Point can arrange in-person or video internal witness signing.
- Official Language Translation: If documents are not in English or Chinese, accurate official language translations of key content must be provided.
